§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) whether he will revise his proposals for university fees for overseas students so as to make transitional provision for students already enrolled on courses, who may be prevented from continuing them by the increase;
(2) whether he will revise his proposals for university fees so as to make transitional provision for British students who are not in receipt of any local authority grant because they have changed to a longer course, repeated a year, have had their career disrupted by the closure of a course or institution, or failed to satisfy the residence qualifications for a grant.
