§ Mr. Tom Kingasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has yet received, or otherwise when he expects to receive, the report from the Transport and Road Research Laboratory on the use of ramps in the road as a means of slowing traffic in suitable areas.
§ Dr. GilbertThe only research results so far available from trials on public roads are the preliminary findings from an installation in Oxford. I am sending the hon. Member a relevant leaflet. Further field trials will be carried out at Norwich, where a site is in preparation, 353W and in Haringey, Kensington and Glasgow. Other sites may be selected later. I cannot yet say when we shall be in a position to publish a general report.
