§ 70. Mr. Kershawasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many overseas students were in institutions of higher education in each of the last three years; and how many he expects will be enrolled in the forthcoming academic year starting in the autumn 1976.
§ Mr. Gerry Fowler34,000 overseas students were enrolled on courses in higher education in Great Britain in 1973–74, 40,000 in 1974–75 and an estimated 46,000 in 1975–76. It is too soon to assess enrolments for the coming year.
