(2) whether he will extend the appeals procedures available to MOT test centres which are disqualified.
§ Dr. GilbertAn authorised examiner has a statutory right to appeal to my right hon. Friend against the withdrawal of his authorisation to conduct MOT tests. Appeals may be made within 14 days of the notice of withdrawal; before the notice is issued, the examiner is given the opportunity to make representations to the senior area mechanical engineer of the Department of the Environment on the proposal to withdraw authorisation. These arrangements ensure that full and careful consideration is given to all aspects of a particular case.
