HC Deb 26 July 1976 vol 916 c10W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what discussions he has had with the NCSS and the Standing Conference of Councils of Voluntary Service on the Urban Aid Programme; and what central Government funds are available for socially desirable projects and activities carried out by local voluntary organisations.

Mr. John

Home Office officials had discussions with NCSS representatives on 20th May and with representatives of the Standing Conference of Councils for Voluntary Service on 23rd June. Central Government funds are available under the urban programme to local voluntary organisations for socially desirable projects and activities in urban areas of special social need, submitted through local authorities. They are also available in exceptional circumstances from a variety of other central Government sources, according to the particular field of activity concerned.
