HC Deb 26 July 1976 vol 916 cc17-8W
Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Minister for Overseas Development what is the total of British aid of all kinds currently being provided to Uganda; what projects and services this is being used to finance; and whether he intends to continue this aid while the lives of British citizens in Uganda are at risk.

Mr. Prentice

We are providing no direct aid to Uganda. We still supplement the salaries of 11 British personnel employed by the Uganda authorities; this is a commitment pre-dating the suspension of aid in 1972. It will cost £40,000 in 1976–77.
