HC Deb 26 July 1976 vol 916 cc49-50W
Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if designated lorry routes will be given priority over other trunk roads for road building improvements and routine maintenance.

Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what assumptions road construction units are making about the inclusion of truck roads in the proposed lorry route network when forecasting future traffic needs for schemes currently in the preparation pool; if he has issued guidelines; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Gilbert

Until the principles of a possible lorry routeing system are settled it would be premature to consider the implications for individual roads.
