§ Mr. ShoreLocal authorities, like other owners, can obtain grants towards the cost of repairing their buildings of outstanding architectural or historic interest under the provisions of the Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments Act, and also towards the cost of expenditure on the promotion, preservation or enhancement of the character of conservation areas of outstanding architectural or historic interest under the Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Act 1972.

§ Mr. ShoreThe study of traffic and other vibrations on historic buildings began in 1975 and will take four years to complete. It is hoped that an interim report will be available in about a year.
