§ Mr. Farrasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the extent of British participation in the NATO Scientists' Conference on Environment Matters now being concluded in Iceland; and what will be the total cost of this participation to the British taxpayer.
§ Mr. HattersleyThere was no official British involvement in this conference, which was held under the auspices of the NATO Eco-Science Panel, which is part of the NATO Science Committee. I understand that the scientific director and the assistant scientific director of the conference were British and that other British scientists also participated. The costs were met by a grant from the NATO Science Committee.
