Mr. Moonman

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what are percentages and totals of his advertising budget allocated to both daily and Sunday newspapers at 31st December 1975 and to 30th June 1976.

Advertising expenditure in all media for the 12 months ending 31st December 1975 was £170,640. Of this, £82,763, or 48 per cent. was spent in national daily newspapers and £86,135 or 51 per cent. in Sunday newspapers.

For the six-month period ending 30th June 1976, advertising expenditure in all media was £165,382. Of this, £96,717, or 58 per cent., was spent in national daily newspapers and £43,466, or 26 per cent., in Sunday newspapers.
