§ Mr. DeakinsThe average age at marriage in England and Wales in 1974 was 24.9 for bachelors and 22.7 years for spinsters. The figures for previous years are given in Table L of the Statistical Review of the Registrar-General for England and Wales for 1973 (Part II) which is in the Library.
