§ Mr. EadieThe percentage loss in electricity transmission depends on a number of factors including the operating voltage of the line, the extent to which it is loaded, the ambient temperature and whether the line is overhead or underground. The energy loss on a main overhead transmission line in the United Kingdom would be in the region of 0.01 to 0.03 per cent. for each route mile of length.
