§ Mr. OrmeThe precise information requested is not available but it is clear that the number of lone parents who have informed the Department that they do not wish to receive or to continue to receive child interim benefit is relatively small. Up to 13th July, 266,703 claims had been made, of which 222,439 had been approved and 14,793 disallowed. For a variety of reasons, including changes of circumstances, a total of 2,930 order books had been returned by that date to the Department.
