§ Mrs. Haymanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many one-parent families in full or part-time employment he estimates have incomes below the tax threshold.
§ Mr. OrmeIt is estimated, on the basis of information from the 1974 Family Expenditure Survey, that there were then about 130,000 one-parent families in full-time or part-time employment, or self-employment, who had incomes below the tax threshold. This information, which is the latest available, relates to income at the date of interview and is subject to sampling error.
