§ Mr. Harry EwingBetween 30th September 1974 and 30th September 1975 the latest period for which statistics are available, the number of nursing staff—whole-time equivalent—employed in psychiatric hospitals and in psychiatric units of other hospitals in Scotland increased by 680–8.5 per cent.; and in the same period the number of staff employed in non-psychiatric hospitals—including mental deficiency hospitals—increased by 2,830–7.7 per cent.
