§ Mr. Ashleyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether the capital expenditure of £500,000 and running costs of £250,000 envisaged by the Medical Research Council for the new Hearing Institute includes money that would normally have been expended in this field, or whether it is additional expenditure.
§ Mr. MulleyThis expenditure, which will be found from within my Department's grant in aid for medical research and from funds made available by the Health Departments for commissioned research, will be in addition to the Medical Research Council's existing commitments in the field of hearing research.
