§ Mr. RowlandsThe report has been published today and I am arranging for copies to be placed in the Library. This report is published as a contribution to the consideration of how a stable and enduring future for the Falkland Islands can best be achieved. Its recommendations will require careful and detailed study by Her Majesty's Government. This cannot be conducted in isolation and Her Majesty's Government will therefore need to consult the Falkland Islanders and other interested parties. They will also need to take into account the wider political and financial considerations not directly covered by the report, including a framework for co-operation with Argentina.
