§ Mr. EadieThe Advisory Council on Research and Development for Fuel and Power has advised that a full feasibility study on tidal power is not justified at the present time, but studies have been commissioned on two important technical aspects.
Although wave energy technology is at a very early stage of development, initial indications are encouraging, and my Department has mounted a £1 million research programme over the next two years to explore the feasibility further.
