§ 26. Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will seek powers to prevent professional car dealers from selling from private residential accommodation and conveying to prospective purchasers that such sales as are made are private.
§ Mr. John FraserThis practice was covered within the Director General of Fair Trading's third reference to the Consumer Protection Advisory Committee under Part II of the Fair Trading Act. The Committee's report "Disguised Business Sales" was published on 25th May and I hope shortly to lay a draft order before Parliament giving effect to the Director General's proposals for controlling the practice.
