§ Mr. John SilkinThe appointment of the New Towns Staff Commission is dependent on enactment of the New Towns (Amendment) Bill now before Parliament. I understand that the New Towns Staff Advisory Committee—the New Towns Staff Commission-designate —has conducted extensive consultations with representatives of employers and employees about the effect on staff of the transfer of housing assets and hopes to submit a first report to me in the near future.
