Mr. Canavan

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is satisfied with the export regulations affecting the Scotch whisky trade.

Apart from a statutory definition for Scotch whisky, there are no regulations directly affecting exports of the product, and the trade continues to show a satisfactory long-term growth potential despite distorting effects arising from conditions in certain foreign markets.
