§ 34. Mr. John Huntasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether, in the interests of the United Kingdom's tourist trade, he will consider making grants available for the installation of air conditioning in major hotels, such grants to be repayable over a period of five years.
§ Mr. MeacherMajor hotels had the opportunity to apply for a grant under the Hotel Development Incentives Scheme for air-conditioning work done between 1st April 1968 and 31st March 1973 and such help cannot be continued indefinitely. Installation does, of course, qualify for tax relief.
