§ Mr. Alfred MorrisThe terms of reference of this study were to record and analyse the experience of carrying out the surveys of the chronically sick and disabled, undertaken by local authorities under Section 1 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970, and to make an appraisal of the extent to which the surveys have been found useful in developing policy in social services departments and in setting base lines for the evaluation of subsequent departmental activities. The study was commissioned in July 1973, and the cost was £5,390. The final report was received at the end of last month. As regards the use that I intend to make of the report, I would refer the hon. Member to my replies to him on 29th June and to my hon. Friend, the Member for Stoke on Trent.
