§ Mr. Martenasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs on what date Mr. Spinelli ceased to be an EEC Commissioner; and on what date his pay and emoluments ceased.
§ Mr. TomlinsonMr. Spinelli resigned as a member of the Commission of the European Communities with effect from 5th July. In accordance with the provisions of the Council Regulation determining the pay of Commissioners, Mr. Spinelli's emoluments as a Commissioner automatically cease on the last day of the month in which his resignation took effect. Former Commissioners are entitled to receive a pension or other allowance depending on the circumstances.
