At present there is no scheme in operation for helping local employers financially to adapt premises and machinery for disabled people; but the resettlement services of the Employment Service Agency are available to give evidence in individual cases. In his statement on 10th December—[Vol. 902, c. 460]—my hon. Friend the Minister of State announced that he would be asking the MSC to introduce a scheme of capital grants for employers who modify their premises or install special or modified equipment to enable disabled people to enter or remain in their employment".

This scheme is under discussion.
