asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what is the average size of classes in primary schools in the Liverpool Education Authority area;

(2) what is the average size of secondary school classes in the Liverpool Education Authority area.

In January 1975, the latest year for which figures are available, the average size of class as registered in primary schools in Liverpool LEA area was 27.7 and the average size of class as taught in secondary schools was 22.7.
