Lord GARDINER

How many disciplinary charges, if any, in the last five years or any convenient period, have been brought against police officers for breaches of any, and which, of the Judges' Rules.

Lord HARRIS of GREENWICH

Disciplinary charges are brought in accordance with the provisions of the Police (Discipline) Regulations for alleged offences set out in the discipline code, and the regulations apply whether or not in a particular instance an alleged action by a police officer could be regarded as a breach of the Judges' Rules. The information requested could not therefore be provided.

House adjourned at sixteen minutes past eight o'clock.
