§ Mr. Guy BarnettNos. 48–52A Bridlesmith Gate, Nottingham, are statutorily listed as buildings of special architectural or historic interest and, therefore, are subject to listed building control. This means that any works for the demolition, or for the alteration or extension of the buildings in a manner which would affect their character as listed buildings, must be authorised by prior consent 339W from the district planning authority, Nottingham City Council, and the Secretary of State must be notified before consent is granted. These procedures are designed to ensure that the special architectural or historic interest of the buildings is fully taken into consideration when any works are proposed.
