asked the Secretary of State for Employment in view of the effects on unemployment, what represen- basic award will be governed by the formula set out in Section 74 of the 1975 Act. The limit of the compensatory award is currently £5,200 or 104 weeks' pay, whichever is the less. The £5,200 limit will continue; but the other limit will no longer apply when the relevant part of the 1975 Act comes into operation. The basic award will be limited to £2,400.
