HC Deb 29 January 1976 vol 904 c334W
Mr. Michael McGuire

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what power he has to direct industry to new towns.

Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

The Government have no powers to direct firms to particular locations but regional incentives are available to attract industry to new towns in the assisted areas. The advantages of setting up in business in the new towns are drawn to the attention of industrialists.
