§ Mr. Merlyn ReesYes. I have decided that for reasons of more effective coordination, saving of resources, and administrative convenience, the Department of Housing, Local Government and Planning, and the Department of the Environment should merge into a single Department. The necessary steps will be taken to effect this unification by the beginning of the next financial year on 1st April 1976.
