HC Deb 29 January 1976 vol 904 cc325-6W
Mr. Gould

asked the Attorney-General what happens as to the proof of the existence of rights and liabilities under public and private Acts of Parliament if printed copies are not available for production in court.

The Attorney-General:

Sufficient time is usually allowed between Royal Assent and the commencement of a public Act of Parliament for it to be printed and published. If copies of an Act, whether public or private, are not available the original print may be inspected in the Public or Private Bill Office and copies taken on payment of a fee.
