HC Deb 26 January 1976 vol 904 c43W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will make a statement about the reference to the UN Commission on Human Rights of the case of Dr. Sheila Cassidy; and which other cases have been so referred at any time by Her Majesty's Government.

Mr. Ennals

In February 1975 the United Nations Commission on Human Rights established anad hoc working group to inquire into the present situation of human rights in Chile on the basis … of oral and written evidence to be gathered from all relevant sources ".

The group will be presenting its final report to the Commission on Human Rights in February and Her Majesty's Government considered that Dr. Cassidy's testimony should form part of the body of evidence on which that report will be based. I know of no comparable case.
