Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will list those regional health authority work organisations that have employed consultants in the last year; what was the cost incurred by each region; and what was the work performed.

Dr. Owen

All regional health authorities employed professional consultants in 1974–75 on the design or supervision of construction of health building schemes, including schemes on which design or construction had started in earlier years.

Extracts from the accounts of regional health authorities for 1974–75 show the following expenditure on professional fees for building and engineering schemes:
