HC Deb 26 January 1976 vol 904 c29W
Mr. Marten

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much beef is now in intervention storehouses of the EEC; and what proportion is now inedible to Western consumers.

Mr. Bishop

According to the latest information received from the Commission the total quantity of beef currently held in public intervention stores in the EEC is 252,000 metric tons. This beef is not inedible although it is a less attractive product for direct consumption than fresh beef.
