§ Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will seek to introduce tests for new vehicles before they are permitted to be used on the roads, in accordance with practice current in Sweden and other European countries.
§ Dr. GilbertI have already consulted interested parties about the introduction of type approval of new vehicles similar to the systems in force in most other European countries. I hope to be able to lay regulations before Parliament shortly.
