HC Deb 22 January 1976 vol 903 c551W
Mr. Hordern

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his objective, as set out in his letter to the IMF, dated 18th December, is that the increase in retail prices in December 1976 should be no more than 10 per cent. above the level of December 1975.

Mr. Dell

The Government's objective remains that the increase in retail prices between December 1975 and December 1976 should be below 10 per cent.

Mr. Neubert

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the amount by which the retail price index will have risen from February 1974 until the third quarter of 1976 on the basis of an annual rate of domestic inflation of 10 per cent. as outlined in the White Paper, "The Attack on Inflation".

Mr. Dell

51 per cent.
