§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has received against the reported proposals of the Schools Council to merge the GCE O level examination with the CSE examination.
§ Miss Joan LestorA small number of letters have been received, mainly questioning whether a unified examining system at 16+ could cover the same range of ability as the present GCE O level and CSE examinations. The Schools Council's proposals have not yet been submitted to my right hon. Friend, with whom the decision on the establishment of new examinations rests.
