Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will list all the foodstuffs which at present receive a subsidy, showing how much the subsidy is and what part of it is from the EEC.

The information is as follows:

Approximate value at retail level
Milk 2p per pint
Bread 2p per large loaf
Butter 11p per lb., of which the EEC contributes approximately 17 per cent.
Cheese* 12p per lb.
Tea 8p per lb.
Household flour 3p per 31b. bag
* The cheese subsidy will be reduced by about 2p per lb. at retail level on 25th January 1976.
