HC Deb 22 January 1976 vol 903 c582W
26. Mr. James Johnson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether it is his intention to seek changes in the common fisheries policy of the EEC, with particular reference to the extension of fishing limits; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Bishop

As we have made clear in the past, the Government are actively seeking a reappraisal of the common fisheries policy in view of the likelihood of worldwide extensions of fishing limits in the near future. Our aim will be to secure arrangements which assure the industry and consumers in the United Kingdom of continued access to adequate fish supplies.
