asked the Prime Minister if he will consult the Prime Minister of the Irish Republic about the security of the British Isles.

As regards a meeting with the Taoiseach, I have nothing to add to my reply to the hon. Member on 13th January. There is constant consultation between the two Govern- ments at all levels on security matters of common concern.
