HC Deb 19 January 1976 vol 903 c330W
Dr. John A. Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what reductions have taken place in the coastguard service on the Cumbrian coast; what were the reasons for the reductions; what level of service remains; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Clinton Davis

There has been no reduction in the Coastguard Service on the Cumbrian coast. I refer my hon. Friend to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Kingston upon Hull, Central (Mr. McNamara) on 18th December 1975 about the situation in the country as a whole with regard to expenditure on the Auxiliary Coastguard Service.
