§ Mr. William RossThe plans for forestry as set out in the consultative document on "Forestry Policy" published in 1972, and accepted by the Government in October 1974 now form the basis of the Forestry Commission's operations. The use of home-produced timber is actively encouraged by the Forestry Commission for all those purposes for which it is suitable; this includes the substitution, whenever possible, of domestic produce for imported timber, thereby reducing the level of imports.
