§ Lord James Douglas-Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a further statement on the future of Mary Erskine School, in the light of the fresh agreement between the Lothian Regional Council and the Merchant Company.
§ Mr. William RossI have studied the new proposals put forward by the Lothian Regional Council but I see nothing in them to change my view that it has not so far been demonstrated that the need for extra school places is so great as to justify acquisition of the school.
