§ Mr. HattersleyAs my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister told my hon. Friend the Member for Newham, North-West (Mr. Lewis) on 17th December, Her Majesty's Government wish to solve this dispute by negotiation and are willing to reach a compromise solution and to resume discussions with Iceland anywhere, at any level and at any time. This remains our position, and all that is required is an equally constructive attitude on the Icelandic side. I am glad of this opportunity to reaffirm our earnest desire for a peaceful, negotiated solution.
