Mr. Batesasked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on the Report made to him by the Working Party on the film industry.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Report on "The Future of the British Film Industry" by the Working Party that I set up last August has been laid before Parliament and is published today as Cmnd. 6372. The Report makes a number of extensive and important proposals and the Government are grateful for all the work that the Chairman of the Working Party, Mr. John Terry, and his colleagues have put in to produce it in such a short time. The recommendations of the Report are being urgently considered and we hope to make a statement as soon as possible.
