§ Mr. Merlyn ReesFew such groups have a settled identity or organisation. I cannot, therefore, give a definitive list. Among those which have been described as para-military groups are:

- Official Irish Republican Army.
- Provisional Irish Republican Army.
- Saor Eire.
- The Ulster Volunteer Force.
- The Red Hand Commandos.
- The Ulster Freedom Fighters.
- Irish Republican Socialist Party.
- People's Liberation Army.
