§ Mr. Churchillasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in what respects the Government of Rhodesia fail to satisfy the criteria for recognition on the basis of which Her Majesty's Government on 18th February recognised the MPLA as the Government of Angola.
§ Mr. EnnalsRhodesia remains in law a part of Her Majesty's dominions for which Her Majesty's Government retain responsibility in accordance with Section 1 of the Southern Rhodesia Act 1965. Furthermore, the Security Council of the United Nations has decided that member States should refrain from recognising the régime. In the circumstances no question can arise of recognising the illegal republican régime in Rhodesia.
