§ Mr. Ovendenasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she has decided when regulations are to be made under the Employment of Children Act 1973.
§ Dr. OwenFollowing consultation with the local authority associations it has been decided that in view of the limited resources available to authorities to implement new regulations during the present period of financial restraint the regulations will be deferred for two years, when the associations will be consulted again. In the meantime local authority byelaws on the employment of children will continue to operate.
