HC Deb 19 February 1976 vol 905 c794W
Mr. Ron Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what considerations he took into account in deciding upon the amount of financial assistance given by his Department to Avon County Council for the bus services in the county;

(2) when he determined the transport supplementary grant, if he took into account the high fare levels existing in the area of the joint services and the fact that previously there had been no other financial assistance from Avon County Council as the transport authority or from central Government.

Dr. Gilbert

I took into account all the relevant considerations put forward in Avon County's Transport Policy and Programme in acceptingin toto the county's estimate of £1.045 million bus revenue support for 1976–7 at November 1974 prices.
